Marta K. Fowler
A long-time Olympia resident, Marta has been a member of the OSO for two years. She was Executive Secretary and Co-Chair of the 2017 Celebrate Gala fundraiser, then Chair of the OSO Events Committee in 2017-2018. She and the Events Committee organized the 2017 Yuletide Party, Opening Night Reception, Musician Sponsor Reception, end-of-season Musician Party, and the "Cabaret"-themed 2018 Celebrate Gala.
Her background involves nearly 30 years serving as a volunteer in the Olympia community. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA Youth & Government Program.
She has volunteered for other non-profits including the Washington State Public Affairs Network of Junior Leagues (President), the Olympia Junior League, the City of Olympia, Washington/Olympia, Greece Sister City Committee (Past President), the Washington State Information Council (past Officer and President), as well as various other groups including Parent Teacher Organizations. She earned her MPA from the Evergreen State College.
When she was 15 she sold Lakefair buttons to support Olympia's major summer event, Lakefair.
Professionally, she was a senior Program Manager for a defense contractor and a Public Affairs Manager for state government, as well as representing three Washington State Governors in environmental and emergency management capacities. She has her own business as a legislative consultant.
