Alexandra Arrieche is a conductor known for breaking boundaries between classical and popular music. With a career that spans international orchestras, stadium tours, and major cross-genre collaborations, she brings a rare versatility and bold artistic vision to every project. Whether leading world-class ensembles or working with legendary pop artists, Alexandra connects deeply with audiences and musicians, earning recognition for her innovative approach and dynamic leadership. Currently she serves as Music Director of the Olympia Symphony Orchestra and Principal Conductor of the Antwerp Philharmonic in Belgium.
 

In 2015, Alexandra was invited to conduct the European Emmy Award-winning Night of the Proms. Due to overwhelming success, Alexandra was engaged as the Antwerp Philharmonic and NOTP’s principal conductor. Alexandra collaborates regularly with pop music icons such as Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams (Toto), Bryan Ferry, Joe Jackson, Seal, Suzanne Vega, Simple Minds, Pointer Sisters, Chaka Kahn, Roger Hodgson, Peter Cetera, Alan Parsons, Anastacia, John Miles among others.
 

 

In 2016, Alexandra was appointed Music Director of the Henderson Symphony (HSO) and led the organization through 2025, elevating the arts scene of the Vegas Valley with her exciting, community-sensitive programming. Under Alexandra’s leadership, the HSO became one of the few in the country to offer a free concert season in addition to a slate of energetic community youth outreach programs. Alexandra developed a Conducting Studio in Brazil in 2015 to address the lack of opportunity for conductors in her home country. This program was expanded into a successful international program in collaboration with the HSO.
 

 

In 2022, she was appointed Music Director of the Olympia Symphony. She has focused on community engagement, educational outreach, and blending classical with contemporary music. She started the Young Artists Competition and the Masterclasses Series to nurture emerging local talents. 
 

As a guest conductor Alexandra has appeared with some of the finest orchestras around the Globe including a series of recordings with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic featuring Brazilian Music arranged by Roeland Jacobs. “Saudade”, the first album of the series, won the Edison Prize 2020, one of the most prestigious music awards in Europe, as the best Jazz album of the year. Arrieche and Jacobs continue collaborating, their most recent album with the Antwerp Philharmonic “The Seven Symphonies: A Classical Tribute the Beach Boys Music” was shortlisted to The Grammy’s in 2022.

 

Alexandra has also collaborated with and championed new works by some of the finest composers of our generation including Dobrinka Tabakova, Lera Auerbach, Mason Bates, Jennifer Higdon, Clarice Assad, Kevin Putz, Anna Clyne, John Adams, James Macmillan, Michael Daugherty, John Corgliano among others.

 

During the pandemic Alexandra started a Podcast called “Beethoven was a Rockstar". She explores the limits between classical and pop music, finding where the boundaries are, and breaking through them.  The series has already had thousands of downloads from all over the world.
 

 

Alexandra is featured in "The Conductor", a documentary about her mentor Marin Alsop. The Documentary premiered in Tribeca in 2021 with Alexandra opening the screening conducting young female musicians from the New York Youth Symphony.
