Accessibility at OSO Concerts

The Olympia Symphony works closely with our primary venue, the Washington Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA), to ensure comprehensive accessibility support.

We strive to expand accessibility options and improve the patron experience for all community members, regardless of physical, sensory, or other needs. Staff and volunteers at both the OSO and the WCPA can offer accommodation assistance, seating guidance, or specific accessibility questions.

Physical Accessibility

Wheelchair Access:

WCPA wheelchair-designated spaces with companion seating are available in Rows "A," "K," and "L" (marked with accessibility icons online). WCPA provides a wheelchair for street-to-seat transportation and offers aisle seats with pivoting armrests for easier transfers.

Mobility Support:
Walker users can access orchestra transition seats. WCPA stores mobility devices near the stage and provides volunteers to retrieve them. WCPA staff assist but cannot perform physical transfers for safety reasons.

Parking:
The Washington Center does not own any parking facilities, however metered city parking is free after 5PM or anytime on Saturday and Sunday. For your ease and convenience, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your event. The WCPA lobby is always open one hour before curtain, ensuring that you have plenty of time to arrive, park, and enjoy a pre-show snack or beverage.

*Groups with accessible needs are welcome to flip on their hazard lights and drop guests off outside our front doors before parking.*

Facilities:
Accessible restrooms are available.

Sensory and Communication Support

Hearing:

WCPA provides assistive listening devices available at the Concessions bar.

Vision:

We project program titles in large print during concerts. We don't currently offer large print programs.

Service Animals:

WCPA welcomes service animals. If your official service animal will be attending a performance with you, please contact the WCPA box office so they can make sure they accommodate both you and your animal’s seating needs.
