MOVE IT - SEASON OPENER
OCT 19 2025 | SUN @ 3:00 PM
Washington Center for the Performing Arts
The Olympia Symphony’s 2025/26 Season IN MOTION kicks off with a musical thrill ride that celebrates rhythm, movement, and storytelling across cultures and centuries.
Feel the energy ignite with Arturo Márquez’s wildly popular Danzón No. 2—a high-octane blend of Mexican dance rhythms and orchestral fire. Then, experience the power of music as social force in Carlos Simon’s Movements for Flute and Orchestra, featuring the magnetic Demarre McGill—Principal Flute of the Seattle Symphony and one of today’s most celebrated and charismatic classical artists.
Finally, be transported by the lush, cinematic sweep of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, where the legendary tales of the Arabian Nights unfold in a dazzling display of orchestral color and imagination. This is music that moves you.
Don’t miss the launch of a season that promises momentum, meaning, and magic.
