BUYING LEGITIMATE CONCERT TICKETS
& OTHER HELPFUL TIPS!

Buying Legitimate Concert Tickets

The Olympia Symphony Orchestra AND The Washington Center for the Performing Arts do NOT sell our tickets through third party websites, and we cannot guarantee any tickets purchased through third party vendors. Tickets purchased from third party sources could be fraudulent, counterfeit, mispriced, or otherwise unusable for admittance. Tickets may not be resold on the premises, including the exterior area around the theater.

Third party entities can be deceptive. If you are unsure if you're speaking with the Washington Center, just ask! The friendly box office team is there to help you with your purchase Tuesday-Saturday, 12-5:30 pm, and two hours before any show in person, or by calling 360.753.8586. Online tickets are only available at: https://www.washingtoncenter.org.

Identifying Fake Websites

CHECK THE URL

  • Does it have spelling errors?

  • Is it absurdly long?

  • Scammers may use numbers instead of letters, or letters from another alphabet

IS THE SITE SECURE?

  • Is there a padlock in the URL?

  • Does the URL start with https?

  • However, these are NOT guarantees that the site is legitimate

DOES THE WEBSITE HAVE CONTACT INFORMATION?

  • Legitimate sites will have a phone number and usually a social media presence

  • Copyright should be up to date

WHEN GOOGLING A WEBSITE DO NOT ALWAYS TRUST THE ADS

  • Sometimes scam websites will pay to be a google ad to appear legitimate

HAVE DIFFERENT EMAILS

  • Using an email specifically for internet shopping is recommended

  • Have a private email that you never give out online

If you mistakenly buy from a third party site

  • Notify your credit card company immediately

  • Check the ticket PDF they sent you and see if it has a name that is NOT yours printed on the ticket

  • Contact the Washington Center and/or the Olympia Symphony so we can look up the name and order number printed on your fraudulent ticket and attempt to block the scammer from making future transactions

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse you the funds you lost, but we can assist you in preventing this from happening to yourself and others in the future
