Capital High School Performing Arts Center
Early booking is highly recommended for this must-see performance.
Experience an afternoon of intensity, reflection, and renewal as the Olympia Symphony welcomes violinist Kristin Lee and conductor Rei Hotoda for TRANSFORM.

Known for her “stylistic diversity” (The Strad) and “flawless technique” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch), Kristin Lee brings both precision and vulnerability to everything she performs. She returns to Olympia to take on Max Richter’s Recomposed: Vivaldi – The Four Seasons, a work that reshapes a beloved classic into something urgent, intimate, and strikingly modern.

On the podium, Rei Hotoda brings a bold, collaborative approach that has earned her invitations from major orchestras across the country. Her performances are marked by clarity, emotional immediacy, and a deep commitment to storytelling through sound. Together, Hotoda and Lee guide the orchestra through music that examines change from the inside out.

Opening the program is Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen, a rich and searching work for strings that reflects on loss, memory, and transformation. Heard alongside Richter’s reimagined Vivaldi, the result is a concert that feels both introspective and alive.

TRANSFORM is an invitation to listen differently—and to leave changed.
